Bio: Cal Gore always knew he wanted to be a clown with the Barney and Bailum Circus when he grew up. Whenever the other children had birthday parties, Cal volunteered to be the clown and make the other kids laugh. Unfortunately, when some of the older boys laughed, it wasn’t because they thought Cal was funny as a clown... they were mocking his ambition to be a clown. One boy in particular, Rudy, was downright mean to Cal.
Cal fully intended to leave home and join the circus the day he turned 18. The day before his 18th birthday, Rudy invited Cal to go for a beer. Not wanting to insult the town bully, Cal accepted the offer. On their way to the local bar, a group of Rudy’s friends showed up and pulled Cal into an alley where they beat him with baseball bats, laughing all the while. One of the thugs pulled a knife and slashed Cal’s throat. The thugs scattered when Cal fell to the ground, blood gushing from his open wound. But Cal wasn’t quite dead... and not long after, one by one, Rudy and his friends were found with their throats slit and a laughing clown with bloody gloves was seen running away from the “victim.”
